All Aboard for North Portland Sunday Parkways!
Join the Friends of the Washington Park & Zoo Railway at North Portland Sunday Parkways on Sunday, August 2!
We’ll be at Columbia Park sharing the story of Portland’s historic Zoo Railway, talking about plans to restore the beloved Rose Garden Loop, and inviting people to become part of this exciting community effort.
Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help staff our booth. No experience is necessary—we’ll provide everything you need, and new volunteers will be paired with experienced team members.
Volunteers can help by:
Greeting visitors
Sharing information about the railway
Answering basic questions
Collecting email signups and donations
Hearing—and sharing—favorite Zoo Train memories
Building excitement for the restoration effort
Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or stay for the entire event, we’d love to have you aboard!
Help Bring Titus to Life!
We would also love to introduce Titus, our Zoo Railway mascot, to the North Portland community—and we need a mascot volunteer and handler to make it possible!
We’re looking for:
An energetic volunteer to wear the Titus mascot costume and interact with children and families
A handler to accompany Titus, help navigate the event, and make sure our mascot stays safe and comfortable
These would be especially fun roles for two friends or family members who would enjoy volunteering together. No mascot experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and a sense of fun!
