A Roaring Success at National Train Day!

Titus and friend!

The 1616 Abraham Lincoln

The Friends of Washington Park & Zoo Railway had a fantastic time celebrating National Train Day at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center on May 10th! With the steam engines fired up, the impressive Abraham Lincoln locomotive on display, and sunshine to top it off, it was a perfect day for train lovers of all ages.

Our booth was buzzing with activity as we shared our mission to restore the historic Zoo Train to Washington Park. Hundreds of visitors stopped by to sign our petition, ask questions, and learn more about the history and future of the beloved railway.

The biggest hit with the kids? Titus the Tiger โ€” our friendly (and furry) mascot โ€” was on hand to greet families, pose for pictures, and spread some joy throughout the day. ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿš‚

Weโ€™re so grateful to everyone who volunteered, stopped by, or shared their own Zoo Train memories with us. Your enthusiasm fuels our work and keeps us moving forward.

If you missed the event, donโ€™t worry โ€” there are more opportunities ahead to get involved. Be sure to follow us on [Facebook/Instagram] and sign up for updates as we continue to advocate for bringing the train back to life in Washington Park!
